Curly and Racquel are still not on speaking terms. Racquel learns
about the fight Curly and Des had and goes to see Curly at work,
in Soopascoopa and they have an argument, Curly tells Racquel
he doesn't want to see her again. After she leaves the shop, Curly
goes berserk and tips over some of the produce, Emily and Percy
are in the shop at the time and they see all of this. Needless
to say, Curly gets sacked. When Reg hears about this, he takes
Curly by the neck (almost!) and arranges an interview for him
with the company Reg works for, although he doesn't tell Curly
what the job is for. Only when Curly accepts the job does he find
out that the 'management' position is in fact .... - Reg's assistant!
So, Curly and Reg are back working together again.
Des Barnes hasn't been sacked from the bookies, in fact he and
his boss are quite good friends now. The boss tells Des that his
divorce has just come through and they go to the Rovers to 'celebrate'
this, with the boss (I can't remember his name) eyeing up Liz
in the bar and telling her she's a good looking woman and so on.
Denise and Ken seem to be getting on ok with baby Danny, Denise
purchases a pushchair. Ken is keen to get his hands on some of
the furniture that rightfully belongs to him and which is now
in Deidre's old house, owned by Baldwin. Ken writes Baldwin a
letter putting his case clearly stating that he owns the furniture,
Deidre said he could take it and so on, but when Mike receives
the letter he just laughs at Ken and tells him there's no chance
of getting the furniture.
Derek is still on his health kick, he meets up with Norris trying
to sell him some stationery but Norris ends up selling Derek a
hugely expensive piece of gym equipment, much to Mavis' annoyance.
Vicky has her 18th birthday and comes into some money, (about
240,000 pounds) and takes Bet out for dinner. Bet tells her not
to let the money change her at all and to be careful of wolves
after her money. Of course, Steve MacDonald eyes are lighting
up every time he sees her now, he knows of the money of course.
